Journey Through Exodus -Death of the old, birth of the new.

Wow! Another year has passed before our lives, or, "Our lives have passed through another year." Perspective can influence the outcome.

I woke this morning thinking about our choice to begin the year with the study of Exodus. The first thought that came to mind was, "What an interesting book to start the year with.", but almost as quick as that thought came, this occurred to me, "What a great book to start the year with!"

Exodus served, at minimum, two purposes:
1) Identify the end of God's people in captivity
2) The beginning of a new relationship with God.

Of course, there is much more bundled in this 40-chapter package, but these may relate to our current position (individually and corporately). This idea may not be new, but important to remediate, there are 3 phases to the book of Exodus:

1) Liberation (freed from Egypt's stronghold, slavery)
2) Covenant ( God provides instruction on how to live life)
3) Tabernacle (God's resting place on Earth)

Interesting how there are 3 phases of a new life with Christ:

1) Salvation (receiving Jesus as LORD and savior), opportunity for freedom
2) Transformation (conforming my life to the ways of Christ) path to freedom
3) Sanctification ( living out my life as a bond slave, ambassador of God's kingdom here on Earth). Freedom in a new identity, value, purpose, and responsibility.

In Christ, you, I, we can do all things! Please never underestimate the work Father has done and wants to do in and through you. That is significant!

Your significance in/through Jesus Christ of Nazareth can bring opportunity for significance in others.
